Am currently updating by ’97 Rift Zone – cracking bike (in more ways than one !!!). Have noticed some bad cracks in the swing arm – it’s one of the flimsy early ones. Can anyone suggest an economical replacement or any experience of using HTS-2000 alloy repair rods on something like this? Any idea what type of alloy it’s made of ? – feels like magnesium alloy it’s so light and I’m worried I’ll melt it with the heat needed for the HTS2000 rods (392Deg C). Many thanks for any advice.

I could be very wrong here but didn’t Rifty replace his swing arm on a Rift Zone which is why he now has a mango coloured one 😆

If I were you, I would PM Rifty. He lives at the Hamterley Trailblazers site but I will let him know about this thread here.

Yes, he replaced it because he wanted to upgrade to disc brakes, if you contact him he may still have the old one he could sell you.

I’ve sent him an email inviting him to comment on this thread

My 98 riftzone swing arm went on ebay for more than the 99 (new) mount vision swingarm I bought. All classic marin swingarms are interchangeable afaik…
