Was performing a bit of maintenance this afternoon, came across the 2nd picture which I had not seen before, it came with the new Trek but for the life of me I have no idea what its for, any ideas? I can only think its something to do with the disc brakes but I have certainly never used anything like it before.

1st picture is just to reassure me, I cam across what appears to be a sprung washer, it was perilously close to where I had been performing a bit of maintenance, only, I had not put it there, got me thinkign has it come off the bike somehow, but can not think where it would be used. Might be totally innocent but I did throw my bike about a bit today on the downhills so you never know.

10 points for identifying pic 1, 10 pts for identifying pic 2, in the case of tie, the winner will be decided by a complicated algorithm of giving points to the letters in the forum user name, ie. a=1 and b=2 and so on, the person with a score nearest 100 wins 😆

the toll i believe is to undo the lock ring on the bottom bracket, as a few bb tools look like this

Lol, its not a quiz where I know the answer, and pic 1 and 2 are definately not connected, I just happened to find the sprung washer near my bike today, the other tool came with the bike, I just have no idea what it is for???

Yeah I reckon the pic looks pretty alike, only problem is the size, perhaps I should have taken a photo next to a ruler but the distance between the tooth and the other side is only 26mm, bloody small BB ???? 😕 😕

Will go check like against the bike now

The spring circlip looks a lot like a circlip used to hold a car driveshaft in, they are usually positioned in a groove on the splined section.
