    AUGUST FORUM RIDE.

    DATE………SUNDAY 2nd AUGUST 2009

    START POINT……….GRIBDALE GATE CAR PARK

    START TIME…………0900 hours

    DISTANCE………….(To Be Confirmed) MILE very approx.

    PACE…………..STEADY

    ROUTE………….Leaving the car park, head up to Cooks Monument and drop down into Mill Bank Wood, and on to Kildale. Through the village to turn left and climb Park Nab, then cross Battersby and Ingleby Moor.

    At the Flagged Road turn left for a fast bumpy descent down to Baysdale Abbey. Follow the trail to the Ruined Farm on Kildale Moor, then turn left to drop down past the old mineshaft and tower in Leven Vale. Climb out of the valley past Warren Farm and drop down past Little Kildale to make for New Row and climb Quarry Hill to make for Percy Rigg.

    Drop down into Sleddale then climb up to the back of Highcliffe and cross to Hutton Moor then follow the trail past the Observation Building to swing across Gt. Ayton Moor and drop back down to the START/FINISH at Gribdale Gate.

    cant believe it my weekend on and got the day off but its the wifes 40th that day dont think i will get away with going out dying to get out again on the mountain bike feel i have dropped off the radar a bit

    beleive me ive dropped plenty of hints but not getting the right feedback she has been talking to the girls were she works and starting to cotton on to my bike collection latest specialised single cross for commuting ect 😆 nice bike though

    Just tell her it’s your only chance to get out on the bike with the lads, and an oppurtunity for her to have some “time” to herself. 😀

    Just to check: is the Gribdale Gate car park the one through Great Ayton on Station Road and then Dikes Lane between Cook’s Monument and Slacks Wood?

    If not then I’ll never find it 😆
