    Hi guys.

I’m after a full face helmet for under £200.

I ride a lot of XC and trail centres (Cannock, Degla, Coed-y-brenin, etc.) so haven’t required one until now.

I’m at the stage where I want to start doing the occasional downhill session such as bike park wales, or stile cop. For this I think I will feel more comfortable with the added protection of a full face.

So this leads me to my query. Is it worth me getting the Bell super 2R MIPS with removable chin guard? My thoughts behind it were I could use the helmet as an XC helmet and use the chin guard on the occasional DH session.

Is this a good helmet? Will I be protected enough if I come off downhill? Or would I be better off spending my money on a standard full face helmet?

I have this helmet and can’t rate it enough. I use it for serious red/black in full face mode and without for XC and standard bimbles. Best bit of kit I’ve bought since the bike itself.

    Thanks for the reply 🙂

Sounds like you’re very pleased with the 2R! I think I might just go for it and try my luck as it does look like a very good helmet.
