The young uns freewheel is borked, it will spin intermittently when pedaling, without driving the wheel.

I am out of my comfort zone with this kind of repair, is it a new rear hub or just a new freewheel?

Which drives the wheel on a bmx? Which contains the ratcheting mechanism?

The freewheel is a DNP 14t by the way, the rear hub some generic steel model.

    Thanks guys.

I’d assume it’s a freewheel on it. Generally they aren’t very well sealed (which isn’t really a problem for BMX) so if you can get a GT85 nozel into the bearings then spray lads of that in and spin the cranks a lot. That might solve it.

    Otherwise a new Shimano Freewheel.

Cheers, I will give it a go, maybe the ratchet mechanism is bunged up, not returning, which would explain why the freewheel only works intermittently.
