Brake Help Please!

I need to upgrade my front and rear brakes to hydraulic on the hardtail and have a few questions 🙂
Are theseany good for the price or would you suggest something else around the same price?
Would they fit my bike or would I need any adapters?
Do they run on my existing discs or am I better getting some new disks?
Here is the current set up:
-
for a start you dont need to upgrade to hydros, properly adjuste cable discs are all you need for normal to medium off road, if anyone tells you otherwise theyre talking crap, if you want to upgrade cheaply get some avid bb7`s or even bb5`s…………………….wanna buy a set of bb5`s?
-
To be honest, I would rather have some good quality V-Brakes over some cable operate disk disasters 😆
The front is “Post” mount, the rear is “IS” and the rotors are 6 bolt, don’t know what will or wont work from the ones you posted as they dont make any reference to the mounting for the rear, the front is wrong.
To be honest I would look at secondhand setups on ebay, Avid Juicy 3/5’s etc. to put it into perpective, I paid £30 for 4 brake pads for the brakes i use. The ones you have shown are botton of the line and probably not worth the effort upgrading to.

If you want to go hydralic the best cheapest ones to get are AVID Juicy 3 the problem with hayes is when there broken that’s it as they cost a bomb to repair and never work properly after reallly. They are good when they work but avid are good brakes for the price.

Behave Jeff.Cable discs were invented to make cheap bikes look good.I defy you to make any cable actuated disc brakes to work as good as my magura marta sl’s.

I’ve had Hayes on both my bikes (the ones Dagze linked to) and both have never broke or gone wrong, always worked when required, don’t think I’d move away from Hayes in the future if I can help it

Mark, i could quite easily get a bike with avid bb5 or bb7 to stand on its nose when set up correctly, ive had hope 4 pot brakes that werent as good as a decent set of avids. your spoilt cos youve never ran cable discs.

darren, adjust you brakes, twist the barrel and tighten the cable

I’ll second that, I’ve used magura and hope discs as well as avid v brakes and nothing stops like the Hayes Stroker on my current bike, even if they do get a bit smelly at the bottom of big hills
