Depends on how much you want to spend

    I’ve been using a cheap Chinese 45000Lm 14x LED Cree XML T6

The brightness is nowhere near their outlandish claims, and you could never use the strobe on it (outside of a rave) but it’s ample for the non-road part of my commute.

If you want to use it on road, you would have to point it down, even on the lowest setting.

Personally, I have a Solarstorm X3 either side of it, that I use pointed down on a low setting for the road section. I hit these to the highest setting when I reach the non-road section and hit the T6 on full beam. too.

Batteries are carried in a triangle bag, fitted where the seatpost tube meets the top tube

Another Cree user Cree X2 had them 3 years and they have been fantastic, if we are doing proper trail riding at night one on the bars and one on your helmet and away you go.
