Brothers new bike
-
Hey guys, Basically my brother being as clever as he is, bought a used bike from ebay… £200… i thought it was going to be good one, boy was i wrong.
Problems i have fixed
Pedal – Fell off on his first ride (Thread was non-existent, new crank arm needed)
Seat came loose – simple simple fix.
Gears numbers didn’t match actual gears – simple fix
Read brake cable not long enough – New cable
Problems i cant seem to fix myself and need help with…
Front suspension – Alot of movement, With his body weight on it bottoms out (even if we adjust it) and if you lift it off the ground the suspension falls until its stopped
Rear suspension – Even with spring adjustment its still hard even when the spring is at its loosest
Basically he has been ripped off, any tips how to fix suspension issues?
Thanks
Nicholas-c

Any idea what the bike is? and any names on the front forks as it could be that the forks are air type and are completely flat, on the otherhand the rear shock could be over inflated for his weight.

His front forks are “Rock shox” I cant find model numbers or anything
I cant find a make/model for the rear shock/spring

if bike is not as described open a dispute with ebay, send the bag of shit back from whence it came. at the end of the day £200 isnt cheap to most people is it. if keeping check out this link for half decent forks on a budget.

rear shock will be tricky. may just need setting up. some springs are for heavier guys so if the lad selling it was a big guy it wont work aswell for a smaller guy. shox can be an expensive do. what size is the rear shock.
