    Hey Guys, me again…

I’ve realised that I appear to have developed a problem… and it’s a rather large problem..

Whilst changing down on the front gears, when i hit the lower cog, and any of the 2 or 3 lower cogs on the back, whilst pushing hard on the pedles, the chain drops…

I’m thinking that the chain could do with a good lube, as it seemed to develop without anything being adjusted, and the bike was out of use in between it running fine, and not…

    Anyone give me any ideas?

    Thanks guys!

Its probably just wear on the gears causing it to sneak past the low limit on the front mech. Adjust your front mech low limit screw to prevent in future.

There is also a train of thought that whilst all gears should be useable in the middle ring, the two smallest/smallest and biggest/biggest chainring/sprocket combinations should not be used because of the chain line being too extreme.

Might be the cheapest and easiest way out! 😉 😀

well, it turns out that it was nothing to do with the mechanisms…

On a trip up the road on the way to our destination today, the chain dropped without me even changing gear… i stopped picked the chain up, and noticed a huge bend in the chain!

So a new chain for me… swapped out already and tested and all is much better. So next week, we’ll try again, with the ATC2K on bars 🙂

We’ve not been hit too badly by snow in the North West in all honesty. There hasn’t been anything that made me think “holy crackers, I wouldn’t go out in that”. We got a bit of a drift flying in now, but that wont do anything to us.
