  • Copter tape – application tips?

    well i just got my Meta back after another frame replacement, and following the HUGE number of scratches in the last one, decided to protect its pristene whiteness this time, so buying some tape…

    Anyone done this, got some do and don’ts?

    i reckon 2Metres of tape…

    PS yes i know i’m being tarty, sorry… but i will scratch it and i like it all… perfect… sorry 😉

    do you mean were the cable rubs or are you anabout taping the whole frame 😯

    Well i’m deff doing the top tube, thoroughly shagged the last one, (though the bit where i flung it off a mountain didn’t help 😳

    then to cable rub and rock strike areas… wondered what other bits people did…

    Its worth pointing out my clumsy destructive nature…

    I did the underside of the down tube, the swing arms and a small piece under the bb, where I get most rock stikes. Also, put it at cable contact points and does give some protection but not as much as proper protection patches. I wore mine through on a gritty wet ride at Dalby and its scored the paint on my down tube.

    Indeed, i gouged massive bits of my forks away with slatey slush at MArin/Machno…

    think i’ll back up cable points with some parks patches, really good for it…

    oh, and I think you can use a hair drier to mold round welds etc. Not tried this myself though.

    yup i’ve heard the same, have my flatmate (oxfam manager) sourcing me a hairdryer at the mo…
