I recently posted about having crossthreaded my pedals – well taking someones advice on here I sent them back and got them replaced!

Now I’m having to attach my new cranks… should they sit removed outward from the frame? On the LHS there is at least an inch of the thru bolt thingy showing… I don’t remember how it looked when it first arrived (with cranks attached)

    Any help appreciated!

I’m not quite sure what you mean, but there should be space between the crank when attatched and where the axle enters the bottom bracket shell.

This is about the best photo I can find to illustrate what I’m saying.

    😉

that is what im talking about – thanks!

So if I’ve pushed the cranks back on either side as far as they would goand then put the bolts in and used a number 8 alan key to tighten as much as I can (without over tightening) – do you reckon thats them on properly??

    😕
