Was planning on riding the MTB today but when i got up the roads were dry and almost a hint of sun in the sky so i thought i’d try out the new Scott 😀 I managed 28 miles in 1hr47mins with a average speed of 15.4mph.I could of stayed out all day i was enjoying it that much, but told the wife i’d be about 2hrs.The difference in Road to MTB was unbelieveable, building up speed seemed almost effortless and the miles flew by.Lets hope we get some more dry days soon 😉

Well done Vince, it’s a great feeling isn’t it when you see the distance you’ve been able to cover, and not as much time spent cleaning when you get back home……… 😀

    Keep it up 😉

Yeah, had a run up the coast road as far as Easington and back.

Gunner, thats one of my main reasons for getting the road bike,i’m able to cover decent mileage in quite a short time,if i can make it a regular thing then my fitness should come on in no time 😉

Definetely Vince, and being fitter, that’ll make the mtb’ing all the more fun.

Did you deliberately want to ride on one of the most scenic routes in the area? 😆 😆 😆 😆

Seriously, what a horrible route. I hate going that way by car. I’ve never, ever done it one a bike. Depressing. Blackhall, Horden, Easington Colliery. Depressing.

I need to show you some nice routes. From Hartlepool always head West or South.

ha ha,its got to be said its not the most inspiring route 😆 but its a simple run with a few little inclines, something to get a feel of the bike.

I’m planning a run out early doors Sunday, weather permitting.Where would you advise ? I’m just trying to avoid the A689,maybe head out up past Hart Village.Lookin for a nice 30/40 mile loop.

Vince, it’s hard to avoid the A689 but to be honest it’s safter than coming down (ie into Hartlepool) the Hart bypass.

Here’s a suggestion. Head out towards Hart and keep going towards Wingate (over A19). Take first left and follow road past Hurworth Burn up to Trimdon Village. Left at Trimdon and on road past Fishburn into Sedgefield. Go out of Sedgefield and take the racecourse road. Take left and then straight on towards Great Stainton. Take a left here and follow road down to Thorpe Thewles. From Thorpe Thewles to Wolviston. Bit of A689 before coming off at Dalton backroad.

I think that one is about 35 miles.
