Off to Wynyard tomorrow with daughter number 1 for our first daughter and dad cycle ride. Going to have a ride along the old railway line. Not sure who is the most excited 😆 . Will try to remember to take some pictures.

Do you think you will help her along giving her fatherly guidance along the way or…………………………………………………………………………

Sit on her wheel for 90% of the ride then spring out when nearly back at the car park and take the glory pumping the air and weeping tears of joy????

    😆 😆 😆 😆 😆 😆 😆 😆 😆

Had a good trip to Wynyard this morning with daughter #1 (KP). KP has never been the most confident of cyclists but she has been using her bike more this year. This was going to be her first off road trip.

    KP ready for the off

    My old school MTB

We made our way along the old railway line to the bridge that goes over the A689, where we stopped for refreshments.

    The bridge over the A689

As we set off on the return journey KP was getting more confident, “I like going fast dad” she shouted. Unfortunately 2 cyclists came into view the other way and she grabbed a big handful of front brake. The front wheel washed from under her on the gravel and down she went 🙁 . Fortunately there wasn’t too much damage, just a bit of gravel rash on her arm.

It took a few minutes to get her ready to go again but she did well on the return leg, though this might have been helped by the promise of ice cream.

Overall a really fun morning apart from the crash.

    Well done KP. 😀

Looks like the sun was certainly out when you set off judging by the shadows. 😀
