    Evening all

I’ve just bought a bit of a retro beater of a DH beast off of good old ebay.

It arrived today and I’m going to try and do a bit of work myself before it goes off to my friendly bike mech. A new approach for me.

First up the Formula disks are a little shot, a bit of time spent on google has shown that they weren’t the best when they were new?

Having never really worked on discs before (other than changing pads) I don’t know what my options are regards replacing calipers etc.

The hubs are quite nice, chunky 4 bolt efforts and look pretty tidy with Xlite Phatso rims so I’d like to keep them if I can.

What are my options re mixing and matching bearing in mind it doesn’t like I’ll be able to get many discs to fit the hubs?

    Cheers

    Will

Hope used to do custom rotors to fit 4 bolt hubs and probably still do.

As for new calipers it depends on the mounts on the frame and forks.
