gear help

recently finished building my bike but having trouble with the rear gear when its in gear 1 and 2 its fine and also 7 and 8 but gear 3,4,5,6 it keeps changing inbetween two gears.

if i put it in gear 3 it keeps jumping inbetween gear 3 and 4 and so on for all the others gears keeping jumping inbetween two.

what do i need to adjust ?

any help would be greatly appreciated 😀

Might be the cable stretching as it’s bedding in, assuming it’s new as you’ve just built the bike?

Got to agree with whats been said above, if you’ve only just started riding the bike then it’ll be 99% chance it’s the cable stretching.

took it out for a ride again today and used the barrel adjuster to adjust it and its working perfectly now
