Gilets………
-
Just been considering the idea of getting a gilet,
what’s your views?
I was looking at this:
http://www.westbrookcycles.co.uk/clothing-7/gilets-44/endura-laser-gilet-9690.htm
Looks quite nice and damned reasonable price.
Or what about this:

😕 😕 😕

I love my gillet, one of the bits of kit I use the most. They are great for keeping the wind chill off your body without you overheating. They also roll up small so easily go in your pocket if it warms up. Would not hesitate to recommend one.
I have a Castelli Gore Windstopper one that I got years ago in the sale in Biketraks.
One choice you need to make is whether you want a mesh back to it. Mine has a mesh back (lets the steam out when I working hard to hold on to your wheel!!) and I would go for the same again.
The Endura one would be the one I would go for for the two you have linked to (plus you could pop to Westbrooks and try it on).

Yes, I thought that. 😀

TBH, I’ve never considered one.
As long as my hands and feet are there, I’m OK.
Anyway, I usually carry a fold-up windproof top.

I wore the ‘Club one’ for the Hospice ride on Sunday, over a t-shirt (Hospice 10K) & a long-sleeve top.
I felt ‘toasty’ all day despite it being a bit chilly, it could be opened as required, but also allowed any heat build-up in the ‘armpit region’ to disappear ASAP
If it had got too warm, it could have been rolled up & stuffed in a jersey pocket (or into a bottle cage)
I also wore it on Monday for the amended version of the 25 mile route I followed.

yeah one of my fave bits of kit… i allways were my nfm team gilet…

Agree with Hugo. I used to think they were pointless until I got one but I wear it a lot. I’m waiting for Westbrooks to get the new Mavic ones in my size and then I’ll be getting another.
I prefer ones with pockets in the back.
The Endura is superb for that money

No it’s not a wind-up. He has English as a second language.
