Ever since I joined this forum I’ve seen the evolution of this bike and got say its looking awesome! And still in perfect condition. How long have you had it now?

Yes it’s come a long way since this

I bought the frame off fleebay, nearly two years ago (and the forks from a different seller)

    It’s a 2005 model, I beleive

There were a few scratches on it (even more now – thanks to me) and a minor dent in the top tube.

I originally intended to powder coat it – but the colour and patina have grown on me so much – I just left it and matched everything else

I lied when I said it’s finished too – I put a white bottle cage on it this morning 😆

Glad you did, I don’t think it would have ended up looking as nice as it does.

+1 theres something great about keeping the frame original and upgradimg a lot of the other parts which makes it look better. Proves that you dont need to spend a fortunes on bigger wheels and newer technology to still love what we all love doing when you can keep the main piece and improve it to your personal liking.at least thats what I keep telling myself as I keep looking at the El guapo in nottingham on fleabay while im on holiday in sherwood pines 😆

    Cheers guys

I have to admit though – I was trawling round ebay the other day and found a brand new GT Avalance 4.0 frame for sale in Canada. It was a lovely colour orange and I was quite tempted and had to kick myself before I pressed the Buy it Now button.

I’ll never get the Kinesis finished at this rate

    😆

It does backfire a bit though – as I still seem to spend too much money and time on this – that I should be spending on the Virtue build.

I’m only £900 and half-way into it, at the moment – and with Xmas coming up, and four kids who want EVERYTHING, I can’t see me finishing it till next summer 😥
