…. rim wax? I believe that Tioga make one but can’t source it in the UK.

Apparently, it makes mounting tyres a bit easier. I tend to have trouble with getting mine to seat correctly on the odd occasion, despite best effort in jiggling it about on the rim every 5psi and/or blowing ot to 110% recommended max. pressure and bouncing it around. 😕

Problem seems be v-e-r-y slightly easier with steel beaded ones.

I’ve not heard of rim-wax, although it sounds like something Julian Clarey would use 😯

I’ve a set of wheels that sometime give me jip – I find that fairy liquid does the trick – but don’t use too much or you’ll look like a bubble machine at every puddle 😉

Strangely enough, the words ‘Fairly Liquid’ sound almost as suspicious! 😉 😀

Cheers, Dave – I’ll give it a try but suspect that at least one of my tyres has been mis-moulded. Only an ‘El Cheapo’, though. 😕

Unfortunately I don’t really have too much experience but thought that seating problems were mostly caused by direct contact between tyre bead and rim itself.

Would putting talc on the tube seat this easier, thus reducing the problem?

I do have some blokey talc from many years ago that I use as a substitute for French chalk after fixing a puncture – it does make the wheel smell a bit ghey, but I can live with that. 🙂
