Hi and welcome to the forum,

    A 1997 P7 for £50!! 😯 Want to sell it? 😉

You may want to up your budget a little as I cant see you getting anything worthwhile for £50. Also, has the 1999 P7 got a 1″ head tube, as that would seriuosly limit the fork you could have.

I think the P7 changed to 1-1/8″ steerer in 1998 so you should be ok but I’d check anyway, before buying new forks. Have you got any pics of the stem and headtube? It may even say on the headset, if you are lucky.

Has it got rear disc mounts?

    Hi Sean

Above should be some pic’s the lad i bought it off said it was a 98 but i looked up the serial codes for the running gear and it showed as 99 thats why i think its a 99 model year.http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/kk160/connor1980/DSC00227.jpg

Don’t think its a ’99 as the broshure states that disc mounts were added that year. Could be a late ’98 but thats the year they changed the headtube.

Can anybody tell by the photos?
