Whilst I can see the point of something like Go Pro for Mountain Bikers I can’t see the point of something like that for Road Cyclists .

If it really is to record their enjoyment of cycling then it must produce the most boring and turgid videos ever.

    And for their eyes only.

So it must be to record other people’s behaviour on the roads so they can have evidence of any wrongdoing etc.

I have one in my car and that is exactly what it is for. Covering my ass and providing evidence in the event of some twat banging into me.

In theory they are used to provide evidence should the rider be involved in an accident.

In practice, many of them are used as a kind of defensive shield allowing them to provoke other road users on the grounds that, “if you do something I don’t agree with, even if it’s not illegal, I’ll plaster it on Facebook and Youtube even if I’m in the wrong”.

In towns and cities, bike users are often quite aggressive towards other road users and, generally speaking, those with extra lumps on their heads are the most aggressive of all.

Whenever I see one of these “I’ve been wronged videos” I can’t help but think of this video…

    Totally agree.

    That’s my experience too.

When I commuted in Fareham almost the entire route had cycle lanes. That didn’t stop this one GoPro-wearing lycra-clad road warrior weaving in and out of traffic, hurling abuse and kicking wing mirrors.

Thanks for the varied replies .

I think what prompted this question was about what I have seen in my area.

The amount of Cyclists chasing after cars and buses beggars belief.

And I have yet to see what these drivers have actually done.A few of the riders have proudly proclaimed that they are filming them.

Not to mention the many many people who (almost daily) post on YouTube obviously just out to cause and find trouble.

They need to focus on what they are doing, stop being so obsessive and get a life.

Before they really do get hurt.
