Helmet – Fox Flux 08 or Bell Sweep XC
-
Greetings fellow bike riders
I’m in the market for a new helmet, due to the fact that the one I have been using since day dot makes me look like a mushroom on wheels. I have narrowed it down to these two helmets

Both look decent but I was wondering if anyone out there who has used/seen them in use has an opinion they could share with me.
Cheers

I went Fox, not only because I like the looks of it. but because it offers extra protection, to the back of the head.
Look at it this way, in the UFC, guys get to kick the living out of each other. But they aren’t allowed to hit the back of the head. There’s a reason for that. Aside from the torque of a roundhouse to the chin (that leads to twisting of the head, and normally a KO), there ain’t much else that can/will do as much damage to you as a big knock to the back of the head.
Imagine you lose control of the bike (for whatever reason, personally I tend to panic if I lose control of the front end), get hit by a low branch and end up falling backwards. When your head comes into contact with the ground or a nice knobbly piece of root, you’ll be thankful of the extra protection!

bought a flux a few weeks ago for the looks and extra protection but got to say i do find it a bit heavy but that piece of mind that incase u end up in a situation that n3ver3nder describes is worth the extra weight.
did have a scott fuga(got sent wrong colour, white grey & PINK) and they didnt have the more manly black/grey at the time.anyway,it was nice and light, looked great and a good fit so could b worth considering for much same price
