Hi

New here, although I remember Gunner from the old C+ forum days (I was imaginatively Shimano 105).
Slightly negative intro as it is a bit of a rant.
I used to ride the roads a lot but I’ve become increasingly wary of this since the advent of SatNavs and iPhones – too many drivers doing everything they shouldn’t.
So I went back to my old MTB days riding a rigid 94 Marin Eldridge Grade – lovely. So after a nice Sunday afternoon on local bridleways I had to ride a couple of miles back home.
Just those 2 miles were hell. Cars overtaking with an inch to spare so that they don’t put a wheel on the double whites. So I try riding further out. Horns blaring and similar close overtakes to teach me a lesson, followed by angry gestures.
Blimey, I went offroad to avoid all this rubbish, what can we do?
Still the rest of the ride was just fine, shame the idiots tried ruining it.
