    hi everyone 😀

    im wanting to start and do road (and mountain bike) races at the end of the year and am not sure if im riding long ennough and hilly enough.

    every other day im riding about 20-25 mile at a gd pace and am doing at least 4 gd size 15% inclines.

    im 14, and was wondering if this is enough to get me race fit

    Marty, why not have a look at this article which is linked elsewhere on the site.

    Basically, it’s saying that quality of training is what matters not quantity.

    It’s very, very difficult not to be distracted by high mileage totals 😉

    Also, it’s not just about riding inclines, but rather developing the right attitude about riding inclines. Also, the tip here is not to ride up a hill but rather to ride over it, that is what puts you in the front of the group, not at the back 😉

    thanks for that gunner. i’m realy trying to attack the hills and as you say ride over them. also i’m in a position were i’m finding it hard to pick my weekneses out myself so am getting help on this
