Lookin’ for a ride in Uk
-
Hi
I’m from Italy. Anybody could give me informations about a future ride in north England? ( Yorkshire and Northumberland)
Thank you
-
If you want a professional guide I know a very good one in Rothbury (northumberland) who also has a bed and breakfast. He can do rides from dead simple to technical mayhem.
Other than that there will be loads of routes on the internet. How far, how technical do you want the riding?
-
Just a short break, 3-4 days. About 25/30 miles per day, not too technical, just for fun and have great looking of the landscape( I love England!!)
I will be happy if you can provide me the contact of the guide or website of the b&b
Thanks

I’d love to take my bike to Lake Garda. Was there 5 years ago on honeymoon, awesome place. Needless to say I wasn’t allowed to take my bike! 🙁

I’m not too far from Lake Maggiore, the second italian lake, wich is very nice. Must come and bring your bike with you!

Stayed in Stresa a few years ago for a few nights. No bikes but the road riding looked lovely and plenty of mountains too with a cable car if you felt like it.

Oh yes it will! How do you think riders get their steeds to the alps? 😉

True Sean, I hadn’t thought of that as its hard enoiugh trying to get Easyjet to take a suitcase! Does anyone know how much they charge for a bike?
I am wondering if the next meeting should only be possible on a Friday afternoon(return Monday) 😉

Hi Abzz,
I’m going to Spain in October and the cost for taking my bike through Easyjet is £16.50 each way – not too bad I thought? All I need now is a bike bag and loads of packing!
There was an article in Singletrack awhile back that had riding on the far side of the Italian Alps – near Turin. This looked a great place.
-
Thanks Dave, thats not too bad at all !
I will have a look at Singletrack and see if i can find any info around Ivrea.
I am due to visit about May so could be interesting!
