I’m a keen biker, used to commute a lot. But I’m not in much of a bike crowd, I no longer commute but still enjoy riding, I recently sold my Specialized Sirrus hybid and now I want a mountain bike to get back to the fun riding I enjoy!

The problem is not being able to make much sense of the technicals and not having people to start the learning around means I’m lost at what to get! Theres so much choice but I lack the understanding to work out what to look for, whats a bargain and whats worth paying extra for! I need to get down with the lingo and NEED HELP, and any suggestions on good bikes out there are appreciated beyond belief!

Although I love to ride its only a hobby I dont need that split second improvement at the considerable cost! Looking to spend under £500 but can streach if its worthwhile!

My biking future is in your hands!

    Peace and Love

Fantastic entry level bike, and as you’d know from your Sirrus, Specialized do make good bikes. 😉

I’d take a look at this one it’s got 300 bones off and the spec is sh*t hot although they only have it in 16″ how tall are you?

Deffinatly worth consideration, the specialized did me proud! How much difference is there between hydrolic disk brakes and just cable disks? Slightly off the subject?!

Thanks thus far peeps, great help.

is there between hydrolic disk brakes and just cable disks?

Hydraulic discs are more powerful by a significant margin

Yep hydraulic brakes stop you dead… 😯 😯 speaking from experience of mate stopping in front of me to turn right I slammed on the brakes. result bike stops dead me over handle bars….there good very good….

Your LBS should be able to offer you some good advice on what’s good and what’s not… try a few out and see what you like…Most of the big name have a good range out now…some even have ex2009 stock at good prices left…no need to wait until Jan…(unless your after a Cube bike that is….. 🙄 🙄 😉 )
