Need some flat pedals advice
-
I’ve used spds for decades but now I need to use flats for improving my technique, XC riding and coaching. I run XTR everything on my XC bike so looking at something like DMR V12 Mags. Anyone using/used these or have any other suggestions?

I used to run Nukeproof Electrons and really rated them.
Very light as made of a nylon composite material but never had any concerns over strength / lastability.
Cheaper than the v12 Mags too… 😀

Shimano Saints with the washers removed from the pins.
Not expensive and have been faultless on my hardtail.
Or DMR Vaults if you don’t mind splashing the cash a bit more.

If you’re after XTR type quality and dont mind spending a few quid then the Syntace ones are the absolute last word in flats. They even come in different sizes for different foot sizes.

Or just get some superstar ones.

Thanks guys, going for the Nukeproofs as they’re pretty light and good enough value. I can always upgrade later if I decide to stick with it and I have two MTBs anyway so will be using the HT for coaching and my own technical training and the XC FS with spds.
Can I use normal trainers or do I need special shoes, I have some HD gortex trainers I was going to use?
