New bike and a mild rant
-
So I ended up buying a Bianchi 24″ road bike for James to race on. Picked it up from Arthur Caygill on Tuesday, a reputable dealer or so I thought. The front tyre went down on Wednesday and the rear today. Turns out they fitted some cheap rim tape and the tube split around the spoke holes. So far it has cost me 2 tubes and 2 rolls of velox tape, now I need some nyloc nuts for the toe end pods to stop them coming undone. Just goes to show you can’t trust anyone to build a bike.
Looks nice tho, I’ll post a pic tomorrow when I get near a working computer . Typing on an Ipod is infuriating.

Didn’t the shop fess up and replace these? 😕
-
Rang them and I’m waiting for Bianchi to get back to them but the drive across costs more than the price of tubes
-
Wish I’d known – would’ve told you they’re a bit shabby these days. You stil healing then?

One of the reasons I prefer very local dealers, which we’re lucky to have a few of around here. 😀
Nothing worse than spending a lot of money on a bike or a component for it all to go Pete Tong and not have a face to vent your frustration on.
Looking forward to the picture.

Actually it was westbrooks that put me on to caygill as he couldn’t get hold of a 24″ wheel racer.
The fingers getting better, back to fracture clinic int mornin, hopefully get the ok to ride

Hope so, your missing fantastically dry trails, it’s a pleasure to get home and only have to wipe a bit of dust from your bike. 😀

Nice one – best of luck. By the way – excellent ride at Stainburn too 😆
-
would it be the shop that done it tho…
wouldnt it just come with the tyres on etc from the supplier 😕
so has it got campag 😀
-
Yeah the tyres are down to bianchi but they fitted the pedals and it should have been checked. No campag it’s got shimano. You can have a look on Monday if your racing in the ne youth league

Sorted now thanks to biketreks… the only local shop with 24″ road tubes in stock.
