    Hi all,

Now its starting to get darker early evening I was wondering if any Notts / Derby riders would like to take part in a ride in the dark. I honestly dont know where we would ride at the moment and I was “sticking my toe in” to see if there was any local interest or are you all hooked on soaps and crap reality tv.

Some ideas would be to do the Derwent / Howden Dam loop again i can imagine it would be very quiet and dark up there at night or a ride along the Teversal trails or even from Beeston Lock on the River Trent to Trent Lock (couple of pubs there) then ride back. I will leave it up to you if you can think of anywhere. Dont be shy at replying, I dont bite.

    Brian

(PS Sorry Gunner might be a bit difficult to get pics on this one but I will try).

If you’re after cheap reliable lights then you may want to check out these torches at tescos

    http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.203-8191.aspx

They put out a lot of light for the price, fasten one to your bar and one to your bash hat and you’re away. Night rising doesn’t have to be pricey 8)

My mate has two on his bars and he swears by them. I bought the smaller one to tie to my helmet and it backs my main light up a treat. Plus because it’s on my helmet it is always pointing where I am going rather than where the bars are pointing which is handier than it sounds.

    Hey all.

As always Brian, you can pretty much count me in mate.

When are you thinking of? I have got lights but they are still untested. What about Teversal & Brierley, do you fancy that one evening?

Also Brian, I’ve seen in another post you may be thinking about doing the BHF Robin Hood ride. I’m well up for that too, maybe that could be the next monthly forum ride for the Notts chapter?

    Hi Lewis,

We missed you. On the subject of night rides, I have been out most nights at Teversall just to keep used to riding, had my Argos lights on the front and found them fantastic for the price. We will get out some evenings afther this weekends BHF 36 miler.

    Hi Lewis

Yep, lets get out. I’ve got lights & enthusiasm. 🙂 Will see how much enthusiasm is left after this weekends 36 mile mud bath.

    Welcome Tony,

Rob, his lady and myself should have been at the Pines today for the BHF 36 miler but it got rained off as parts of the trails could only be undertaken if wearing aqualung equipment. We will give you a holla when we sort out a date and venue for rides.

    Brian.
