Calling all Notts / Derby riders (or any one else who wants to join). There is a ride starting from Carsington Water Visitor center, Below are the details for the ride.
Right then me and monkeyface (pete) have a plan! meet in carsington water visitor centre car park at 09:00 hours, And figure out a route from there pete has OS maps of the area so we can make something up.
Not much of plan I know, but this is what happens when brian doesn’t organise.
Hope to see plenty of you there. Let me know if you can make it.

Looks like we are going to get a bit of bad weather. 8)
Is it still on, no matter what? As you all know, I lurve the mud!
Yep, will think of you Brian, in your toasty warm overalls, as we ride through a monsoon and destructive gale force winds. 😀 Just listen out for us on the news! 🙂 Will see you next time mate.

What ever the weather I will be there. Hopefully the wind will be behind us all the way!
I will be thinking of you brian when Im cold wet and muddy!
How are you fixed for next weekend?
Member13 November 2009 at 10:43 am
I will have to make sure its ok with the other half then let you know, I dont think Rob will be able to do it, I think its his turn to work.

I am indeed on duty next weekend, no doubt up to me elbows in blood, guts & other unmentionables, so no playing out for me! 🙁
But I am off next Wed & Thur if anyone’s got time on their hands? I intend to be out one, if not both days on the MTB. All welcome.

Well I hope you have good waterproofs and perhaps a snorkel as well. Another reason I cant get out on the ride this week besides working in the morning is I am going to pick up a brand new Specilized Hardrock 2010 from Oxford, got it £100 cheaper than all the bike shops even online was selling them for.
Have a good ride.

That’s cool Brian! Bet you can’t wait to get out an that!! Think we’re in for a drenching tomorrow! Ah well at least skin is waterproof!
Member14 November 2009 at 9:56 pm
I think I’ve just thought of a new exreme sport. Think Kite surfing but replace the surfboard with a mountain bike! We could try it out tomorrow given the rather ominous weather forecast!

Sorry to be a let down but I’m not going to be able to make it. I’ve got up with good intentions but just feel too ill.
Have a good ride, the weather doesn’t look too bad!
Member15 November 2009 at 9:08 pm
Just got in well chuffed with the unriden Specialised Hardrock 2010 I just picked up, sorry to hear that Rob was ill how did you get on Lewis or Pete, your not still out there are you? Missing in action?
Member15 November 2009 at 10:48 pm
Haha no we’re not still out there Brian!
We had a nice ride, really brought home the need to do some training for the BHF ride in March! I swear I thought I was going to need a paramedic half way round! the terrain wasn’t nearly as hard as the Pines but for some reason I really struggled.
Glad you’re impressed with your new ride! I’ve got a few from the ride today but as I’m still using a Linux OS without Java support I’ll have to wait till my new copy of windows arrives.
I hope you’re feeling better soon Rob, have to get out again before the weather gets really bad.

Cheers guys, i’m not so bad today, just a bit rough round the edges. 🙂
Glad you had a good time at Carsington and yes we’ll get some more rides in before the really bad weather comes. I am looking forward to getting out in the snow though.
Brian, can’t wait to have a nosey at your new bike. Also, you have set me off thinking about a new one, watch this space… 8) So, when Lucy kicks me out it’s kinda your fault Brian.
Take care all.
