I want to use Oatmeal for my source of carbs but I’m getting a bit confused with the products/brands out there.
Now I’m pretty certain Ready Brek is sweetened, possibly processed etc but what about things like Quaker Oats? Are they Oatmeal? If not is the difference likely to be minimal in terms of the benefits I’d get from it?
I’ve seen health food shops selling OM but at pretty steep prices so I’m hoping I can get it cheaper at the supermarket.

The rolled oats are more of a porridge oats consistency, whereas the jumbo type are less ‘mashed’ if you like, me and my little un use them for homemade granola. Shocking the sugar content in most granola! Even the expensive ones 😯

I don’t think Ready Brek Original is sweetened. I buy the supermarket own brand alternatives and they have no added sugar.
They’re like 60% oats, 30% oat flour and a bunch of vitamins added in.
Anecdotally some claim they have less problems with digestion of the powdered porridge. I don’t think there’s any disadvantage over regular porridge oats since they’re just the same thing in a crushed format.
