a was racing a rather intresting 40 lap crit tonight…
its a tight circuit and at just over 45 riders racing it was bloody tight…
well 7 laps in i was sitting in the middle of a pritty tight buch, suddenly all a i heard was the screech of a carbon wheels brake, then i noticed a rider flying throught the air and the next thing i new all the lads in front of me were down and i slammed the brakes on, i hit a lad on the floor and endo’d over the bike, dived through the air and landedonto a heap of riders ( this all happened within a few seconds, no time to think at all…)
i hit a riders bars hard and they digged into my chest, then a few more riders went over the top of me, luckily missing my head…
i was ontop of someone and was stuck, he was screaming in agony and i couldt get of him 😆 , finally got untangled and looked around to see the carnage
😯 bloody hell, there was just riders scattered everywhere across the road, bikes everywhere
i seemed to get away with it, just abit of a pain in my stomache, and once i finally found the bike it seemed fine to, just a tiny little kink in the back wheel
alot of riders had suffered realy bad gravel rash, and one lad had his bike in to hands
he had a scott addict, forks were snapped clean off and the top tube had a big crack in it
the ider who came of the worst must of hit the curb hard, he was very dazed and again realy bad gravel rash, he was soon took away by an ambulance, but you should of seen his bike, a carbon look trashed, oh and the carbon wheels, they were the new zipp 404’s with the alu rim, it was snapped in two and the alu rim was sepereated from the deep section carbon 😯 😯
well its made me think twice about getting deep sections i can tell you that…
i was so lucky, my first road crash racing and came of fine…
after the carnarge we actualy started the race again 😆
and i didnt see them but another 2 crashes happened 😯 🙄
well thats what happens when you over lap wheels…….
