    Evening all 😉

I’m still on the lookout for a bike to use over the winter months and have spotted this on ebay

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Scott-Speadster-S40-Road-bike-XXL-61cm-/190469622917?pt=UK_Bikes_GL&hash=item2c58dfcc85

what do you reckon its worth ?

    The current model in westbrook’s

Very nice little bike Vince, I have the Scott Speedster also, but can’t remember the model, I think it’s the S50, and I use it as my Winter bike/very bad weather bike.

Have a look here and you’ll see some pictures of it from when I was out the other day. I’ve fitted long mudgaurds to it for extra protection. Winters not for flying about so who cares.

    I’d go for it.

Yeah i’m gonna keep a close eye on it but IMO some things on ebay seem to fetch silly money(maybe i’m just tight),what would you value it at ?

Looks quite respectable to me. The triple clanger is a plus for winter riding. 8)

    Tell me about it……….. 🙄 🙄 🙄

I reckon it will go for about £580, (possibly more can you believe) but I wouldn’t pay more than £410 for it.

    Why?

Agree with Gunner. I’d go to £401.23 max.

Big frames are usually much cheaper as fewer people want them. I’m surprised it’s as high as it is already.

I agree, I’m surprised at the interest in it given the size.

Re the question of the triple clanger………….

I’d personally prefer it if mine was a “compact”, however, as a Winter/bad weather option bike, I’m not bothered enough to change it.

FWIW, I’m old/skinnylegs/crap and on the five-hour training ride yesterday I was in the big ring (on a compact) for about 95% of the ride. That’s why I dimply don’t understand why anyone would want a triple on a winter bike unless they lived in a very hilly area.

Because it allows you those extra small gears for getting up hills when you have 15 layers of thermal clothing on! 😉 😀
