Out today, 15 Feb ’09?

Did 32.5 miles today in just over 2 hours. The overnight rain had killed most of the snow so I headed out on this route
I Barwick-Hilton-Hutton Rudby-Facby-I Greenhow-Great Ayton-Seamer-Maltby-I Barwick.
It was great to be out after the recent weather. There was only a light wind and I made decent progress round the route. There was still a lot of snow on the hills and as I got towards Ingleby Greenhow the temperature started to drop and there was still snow on the verges and on the fields.
Only downside was the state of the roads. They were absolutely filthy, covered in grit and there were some big scary potholes that seemed to have appeared 😯 . Took me ages to clean my bike this afternoon.

i was out for 4 hours this morning, did 70 miles, stopping for 10 mins to watch a duatholon i happened to pass
it was realy windy were i was, so i was happy with an average speed of around 16 mph
the water on the roads was doing my head in, just like rivers flying down the hills due to the melting ice…
new there was a reason i shouldn’t of got white road shoes 😈

One of many reasons you won’t see me out on a bike between November and April
