    Chaps,

After a bit of help. My left pedal was creaking so i undid the dust cover (it’s a shimano style spd)

undid the locknut to regrease the bearings but it has loosened the nut which adjusts the bearings. I have sockets to fit both nuts but how do you hold the bearing nut at the correct position while tightening the locknut?

Is there a special tool? or a technique to do this? I thought i had it but the pedal has tightened right up as they have both tightened on the race.

    Cheers

    Aidan

Try looking through this link on servicing SPD pedals.
