what lube to use on the spark’s pivots. I don’t want to use any of the thin gt type sprays as it will probably brake down the internal grease.

    The book says

“An external treatment with a grease spray after every

bike wash is all you have to do”

what would class as a grease spray??

    what do you use??

As a “Spark” owner, I must admit to being slightly confused by that peice of advice in the handbook………… 😕 😕

I have had my Spark almost a year now, and have only used a spray grease on its pivots once, and this was a spray grease designed for motorcycle chains which I bought from Halfords, however the whole operation seemed far too “messy” and since then I have only been using a very thin application of engine oil to the pivot points after each wash and there seems to have been no adverse affect.

this is the reply i got from scott.

    Geoff,

The “bike spray” is sufficient for pivots, as this acts as a water displacement after the wash.

Thanks for the quick response I do use some the Muc-off bike spray but I cant see anything in there range that I would class as a “spray grease” could you point me to the product you would recommend for the pivots.

    regards

    Geoff

    Geoff,

May I suggest that you look at the “MucOFF” selection, any good bike shop will store their products.

    Hope this helps

Hello i own a spark 30 and the manual says that the only maintenance of the pivots is “an external treatment with a grease spray after every

bike wash is all you have to do” please can you advise me of such a commercially available product.

    regards

    Geoff
