Had a quick ride tonight ( 19.1 miles in 1hr 03 mins, ave 18.0 mph 😀 ) around Stillington, Sadberge, Bishopton etc, to test out my new Bling chainset, I’ve been after a new one since I discovered the arms on the old one was only 170mm. 😯

I knew something didn’t feel right as I’m used to riding the MTB with 175mm arms, I wanted a Chorus chainset but you can’t seem to get Campy gear for love nor money!

So the nearest I could get in the right compact sizes was this Record

The thing was a doddle to fit and is beautifully made, I noticed tonight that the change up onto the big ring is a lot easier

Overall I feel more comfortable with it as I’ve lost that feeling of “twiddling” in little circles and I’m hoping it’ll give me a bit more leverage for the hillclimbing 😳 😳

Roll on some good weather so we can plan another outing over to Commondale etc.

    I’m just keeping them Marty,

They are Pinarello branded FSA carbon ones and I’ll bung em back on the bike if I ever sell it, or use them to build up a winter training bike.

The wheels spoil the bike. They belong on a Pinarello Prince that’s decked out from head to foot in Campag Record 😆 😆 😆 😆

and you need to take the vlave extenders out to make them more aero… 😉

Yeah, can you imagine how many watts extra you’ll have to push out to compensate for those valve extenders?

    Answer = between 1 and 3 watts over 40km.

yep its alot of watts hary…

although if you can have a poo before each of yor rides i’ll let you keep the valve extenders on, as it would problays save the same amount of watts 😆

No, Marty it wouldn’t. The figure of 1-3 watts saving over 40km is in fact an accurate figure, not just something I plucked out of the air.

    RLMAO……….. 😆 😆 😆 😆 😆

    Back on topic, Colin.

That is one nice chainset, and you’re quite right, we need to “that” ride again relatively soon so that you can get an accurate comparison of how the chainset/crank length compares to the one you’ve removed.

    Super looking machine.

I don’t know if you’re aware but I think Harry may have an interest in those wheels. 😉

    Gunner,

It would also give you a good comparison of triple vs compact, eh ❓

Harry has probably lost all interest in these wheels now the ugly valve extenders have been brought to his notice 😆 😆

Good luck for the weekend all you guys doing the Richmond, weather looks good for it 8)
