Evening all. Currently shopping for new winter socks whilst on the cx. Anyone using a bullet proof sock they would recommend??

Can’t find these “dhb ASV Merino Thermal Cycle Sock” in my size sadly..

Can I add, that if you’re also planning to wear overshoes, try putting some bubble-wrap in the toes, almost double-glazing for your feet!!

I think good overshoes are probably more of the key then warmer socks, on really cold days i’ve been using my endura thermal overshoes with some Suggoi waterproof ones over the top and its been a revelation.

Take the insoles out of your shoe and check the cleat holes, some shoes have these visible under the insole and water/cold can get in. Nothing a quick application of silicone sealant from the inside cant fix.

If you try to go too thick with your socks you risk squashing your feet in your shoes and that has the opposite effect of keeping warm.

I swear by Sealskinz waterproof socks.

They got me through 2 winters working on big muckshift jobs in Scotland without an issue, well worth the money.

I’ve used Endura Baa Baa merino for the last couple of winters. Warm as toast 🙂

I am rocking Aldi Fishermans socks. Toasty toes is an understatement and cheap as chips

    Thanks for the tip Richard.

I seem to get cold toes when my five-tens get wet in winter, so am going to try the overshoes + bubble-wrap 🙂 (even though I don’t ride a roadie, I think it’s a great idea for off roading too).
