Rear Hub – What’s best (other than Hope Pro 2!)
-
I’ve a set of wheels fitted with WTB hubs. For some reason the bearings are impossible to source (15 x 26 x 7), so I’m left with having to change the rear hub.
I’d go for a Hope, but they’re so noisy that I’d end up never using them. Can anyone suggest an alternative? I’ve considered XT, but they’re only cup and cone bearings – prone to freezing on cold days….
Ideally under £ 100 (not Chris King then!)
Thanks for advice…..!

Just get the hope and slap a bit of grease on the pawls if its too noisy

Really?
I’ve never had a problem and I’ve been out in everything.
Some old frankly knackered freehubs have had problems but that was 10 years ago.
Cup and cone is why I stay with them.

your bearings are £9 each from BETD
2nd bearing down,

Note to self: – If you post a question, hang around for the replies…before spending £ 70 on a new hub.
Anyone want to buy a WTB hub (after I’ve fitted the new bearings that Jeff found!!!)
Looking forward to my Sun Spin Doctor Pro…… 😯
