    Hi db!

I will try and join you for the saturday morning ride if that’s “ok”, which route are you thinking of taking.

Rode on Saturday. It had dried out a lot more than I expected. Four of us rode from Nunthorpe on the old railway line to Pinchinthorpe. Rode quite a bit of singletrack before climbing the ‘Unsuitables’ followed by a loop over the moor top eventually dropping back down little roseberry and following the upper track through bluebell wood under Roseberry Topping back to Gt Ayton then back home. Great weather for February.

Db, is it ok to use the railway line from Nunthorpe, or rather getting from Nunthorpe onto the old railway line, I knew a while ago there used to be a lot of chew from one of the farmers round there, but if it’s ok now that would make it a lot easier for me 😉

I use it all the time and have not had any trouble. You can either access it from near the Poole hospital roundabout (head up the road that the omega gym is on) or from the turn off half way between swans corner roundabout and Poole hospital roundabout. The only place to be carefully is where you cross the railway line.(there is a gap in the fence as long as you are fairly thin!)

I would be going up the “between roundabouts” way, so I just follow the track and the gap in the fence will be on the left some where, I might pop up there tomorrow or Wednesday and have a nosey, cheers. 😉

I think that guy died, so the hassle stopped. The local farmers now dont seem to be too bothered. I’ve been using it for 3 years & have had many cars/tractors pass me – no bother.

Better still with Sustrans winning the £50m People’s Lottery I think there is plans to make an official cycle route from Guis to Nunthorpe along this route keeping right along the North side of the railway.

    Cheers,

    Sean

Yeh, apparently the council and Sustrans are talking to Network Rail and presumably the farmer(s) to get it sorted out.

    These guys

have a hand in it too and have been doing a good job of getting cycle routes sorted out in and around Guisborough over the last few years
