    Hi All,

I ride am 09 Marin Northside which is currently equipped with

ShiftLevers :SRAM X-4, 8 Speed Trigger

    FrontDerailleur :Shimano Alivio

    RearDerailleur :SRAM X-5

Cassette :SRAM PG-830, Power Glide II, 11-32, 8 Speed

My front shift lever is completely broken – Marin are sending a new part but I’m worried it’s just going to happen again. What levers would be a good upgrade for these without breaking the bank too much?

Also, thinking about it, would I be better off replacing my cassette as well for a 9 speed? If so, again, which one would be recommended?

    Thanks!

    Dan

Id say it depends on how much you want to spend mate. Im just building around a new frame and eventually It will have Shimano XT gears, brakes and crankset.

If XT is a bit pricey then have a look at the other Shimano stuff. Its all decent gear.
