Picked it up after it had been on order for a few weeks. Very happy with it so far.

Its my first road bike, so hoping to get on well with it all, have a few different things to think about when out as its totally different to the mtb side.

    Hope you enjoy my pics:

Chosen pedals, again first time being clipped in 😯

Plus new roadie helmet, and shoes, they fit and feel better than I ever thought:

To finish off, my matching pair:

    Thanks for looking πŸ˜‰

    Sweet choice mate!

Don’t know how you’ve managed to wait this long. I was going up the wall waiting 2 days for my frame to turn up. πŸ˜†

    Full report on first ride:

Ok then, so this is my first venture out as a road rider. I must say I was in some ways a little nervous, couple of things I had no experience of, 1:skinny tyres, 2: clippless pedals 3: how hard the ride will be.

So from my house I took a turn into a nice quiet road, where I could practice rolling up to a junction and un-clipping, stop, and then set off again.

I had practiced in the door way at house clipping in and out, trying each leg, seeing what one felt more comfortable.

Set off with a heading for the seafront, due to it long long road I could have time to see what’s what.

I was very surprised to feel how easy the bike rolled, built up speed, and was so quiet. The clippless pedals were another surprise, shoes felt so comfie.

I guess I cant review too much about the bike due to it being the first one, but its a very speedy, very responsive in steering, generally a very impressive bike, yes it hard over the bumps for the ones I had to run over, but that’s to be expected I feel.

Too much dam wind today, but once I had the wind behind me I thought I’d see how fast I could go……got to 31.8mph….god it felts fast 😯

Was keeping up with a car along the seafront doing a measly 27mph, car behind didn’t bother to over take, probably thought he was gong fast enough.

I feel I did push a bit too hard, as needed a stop break due to my asthma coming on…nothing back, just needed a puff on the old inhaler….I’ll never learn lol.

Very much looking forward to another ride asap.

My ride today was a 45min, 12miler, average speed 15mph…..something to work on slowly. Have to get myself up my lbs for a group ride, be good to get some tips from the experienced guys, they also run in formation, different again.

All in all a good introduction to road riding.

Many thanks Gunner, Lin and Naffa for your nice comments.

Nice little finishing touch I thought. The shoes were a BIG purchase, probably more shoe than I need…but hey…buy then once, buy them right.

It helped being busy at work, getting home late…the days flew by lol.

How long have you been road riding Ness?

Only a couple of months mate. I’ve hardly been out on it though and I’m selling it already. Need to recoup some money on my full sus build.

Might get another roadie next spring when funds allow.

Having said that though, if I can’t get what I want for it, it’ll be staying. I’m not going to give it away.

Dam right mate, your not a charity. Sure make it appealing enough over the price of a new one, all you can do is highlight the fact it 99% new still.

Tried for a longer run today, from my house to work place, to see if I could commute….turns out its do-able, but I wont now we approaching winter and all the rain of a night, finishing at 7pm….I just wont enjoy the ride.

It was a great ride though, the bike is awesome, its just so fast compared to the mtb.

Getting use to the spd’s now, on the odd occasion it takes me a few seconds to re-clip in, have to keep looking down.

Arms were feeling a bit sore, not sure if that’s my riding position?, legs were so so, aching definitely lol, not much in saddle sore though, which I was pleased about, but I did wear pants under the padded tights, which I think added a slight bit of soreness you know where 😳 …..from what I understand is a no no…you wear nowt under them right?

An improvement in my average speed from 15mph to 16.4mph.

total time 1hr 30 mins, distance 25.75 miles.

Still over the moon with the bike πŸ˜€
