Will I have a problem using Sram X7 shifters with a XT front mech and a LX M571 rear mech? I can’t find out for myself, as I’m waiting for gear casings to arrive before connecting them.

Sram shifters and derailers use a 1:1 ratio where as Shimano use a 2:1 ratio. Or possibly the other way round

I don’t think the Sram shifters will move the shimano derailers enough for them to work effectively, though I am happy to be corrected if anyone knows otherwise ????

Sram use 1:1 shifting for sure……but not sure if you can mix.

I have shimano on 2 of my bike but the Sram beats it hands down.

Think there is one model of sram shifters that are shimano compatible, but not sure which model it is.

Sram rocket work with shimano rear mechs.

Sram shifters work with shimano front mechs

Sram shifter do not work with shimano rear mechs unless they are rockets.

    Sorry slightlydrunk.

    Shimano is better IMO currenty.

Thanks for summing that up Tom. Guess shifters go on ebay, and I get some shimano shifters. No problemo.
