well did my first time trial tonight ( well done a couple before but was just messin about…)
got the tri bars on ma road bike, got the skinuit on, and the silly looking time trial helmet and i was on my way 😆
not much to talk about, got there to find a very boring and dull bunch of people, i was scaed to talk !!!
iv raced the past 3 days ( btw who was at hetton on wedensday night, a didnt get ya name but he mention gunner so maybe someone of the forum ? )
my legs were realy tired so wasnt expecting to go to good, was aiming forsome where around the 23, 24 min mark…
it was a 10 mile tt, the loop being 5 miles so we did 2 laps
i got off and my legs were wrecked… but just plucked away and tried to keep a high speed,
a got 23 mins 14 seconds, so was pleased tbh… i reckon on fresher legs and now i no how to pace my self i’ll be able to get a low 22…
the top lads get around the 21 minuite mark
i must admit i got into it, misse the crack etc but was still a good challenge, and a change from usual racin
think am going to do one every 2 weeks or so… and ive got a feeling it will be good for the cross as your pushing a harder gear, so just like churning through the mud…
it was fun, i’ll give you that…

Very good, this surely puts you on parr with the best Junior TT riders in the country, well certainly in the area at least.

not sure tbh, think im going to to the ghs district final and see what the other youth times are compared to me…

Sounds like you did good mate, 2 minutes below the top lads is something to be proud of. You’ve come a long way in your riding since you started 🙂

Reasonable time – just think what you could have done if you hadn’t been bored! 😛
GHS = schoolboy rather than junior, so lots of time to improve.
My mate Ceri Pritchard still holds the current schoolboy national 10 record with 20:13, so a bit to go yet. He’s now in his thirties, so it’s been on the shelf a little while …. ready for breaking!!! 😀

im not wanting to get into time trialing seriously… just something else to do, and i want to try and beat one of my rivals who i race with on the road, as he’s a decent tt’er

what would i want to be on there team for? you get nothing out of it… just team kit as far as im aware… ( yes maybe shop discount, but i allready get this from my local shop, as i ride for the north east currently ranked number 2 road team in tli events…)
and ive never tried to get on there team, there’s bigger fish to fry, velo 29 are the team to be one…
there going places and are actualy run like a team…
