I’ve recently bought a Taxc turbo trainer to put my mountain bike on, I could do with a cheap rear wheel/ training tyre set up to save swapping tyres. My bike is on 26″ x 2.2 disc brake with shimano 9 gear cassette.

Also will any make off disc/gear set fit or do you have to fit same make ie. there’s a set off 26″ sram cassette disc brake wheel/tyres on ebay would these fit.

Where’s the best place to look

    Advice appreciated

    Baz 😕

I would have thought that any wheel would fit, cheapest you could possibly find as long as it is compatible with the speed cassette you are running.

Would not have to be a disc specific wheel, as you will not be needing to brake.

If it was me I would be looking at the cheapest, rim brake wheel that a similiar to existing cassette would fit.

Hi thanks for the reply I’m fairly new to this mountain bike malarkey and wasn’t sure if you could mix an match different brands of wheel/gear cassette/disc setups.

I have a look on ebay for something suitable .

Once again thankyou for the advice. 🙂
