What size disc brakes?
-
Hi, I was hoping someone could offer me some advice.
I bought a trek fuel 2002 & want to fit it with disc brakes but the disc brakes are a different size to my Marin.
The mount on the back of my frame is 44mm from center of hole to hole instead of the standard 51mm so I was wondering was this an old size & will fitting disc brakes be hard?
The front is also 74mm apart from center to center.

I know I’m new on here but would very much appreciate some advice as my local shop just said I need an adapter that they don’t sell??

I’ve not much experience with this type of question, but what about having a look through this link and seeing if there is anything compatible, or near, then that should give you an idea of what you shouyld be looking for.

Thanx, I tried that but have no idea what I’m looking for lol.

The trek hasn’t got disk brake adapters by the look of it, it looks like there for pannier racks and things like that, you can get the adapter so it would be compatible atleast that is what it looks like in the pics.
