av got a big race on sunday and it’s getting run in 2 heats… 1 race ( you get a top 25 to qualify for the final) then the final…

so what would you eat inbetween, ive been told the best thing to drink is a protien drink….

but what to eat, im thinking pasta as a rule of thumb but i could be totally wrong…

i’ll have 3 hours 15 between the two races, or depending on what heat i get put into i may have another 45 mins…

Depending on what you like and with correct carbo-fuelling before the first race, something light between the two at least 90 minutes before the second race would do it for me.

I’ve ridden a few morning and afternoon races on the same day and a couple of scrambled eggs on toast with some orange juice between the two used to work for me. 😛

Good luck – try to have a good meal about 3 hours before the first event. This allows the food enough time to move from the stomach into the intestine.

Mind you, I can’t really speak – I was once criticized for eating a Mars Bar on the start line, 30 seconds before my off-time in a 50-mile time trial. Unseeded that day but came second out of 120! 😆

Fat bloke shoots and scores!! 😛
