I’m always looking at upgrading parts on my Giant Trance X and one of the last things remaining of the original setup is the seatpost. Just wondering why so many folk rave about the Thompson Elite seatpost? Isn’t a seatpost just a seatpost, unless it’s carbon?

They all do the same job, don’t they?

    Cheers, Mog.

Don’t know much about the Thomson jobbies but they are not all the same.

    Consider:

Fit in the seat tube, you don’t want to be overtightening bolts just to stop them slipping down. The old style shimmed USE posts were terrible for this.

    Layback

Is the seat angle infinitely adjustable? or does it only change angle in steps?

To be honest, the best I’ve had so far is my Kore T-Rail saddle and post which are so easy to get exact, without the annoying “nearest click” setting I got with other combos

Post fits in the frame like a finger in a bum too

I’ve had all sorts of posts including Thomson and the Giant posts. This post is by far the best post I’ve owned.

So much so that I have two spares in the garage.

I guess if you’re interested in one I could let you have one of them as it’s not exactly like I need two spares. Lol.

Both 30.9 x 400mm although they have been trimmed down slightly for my Anthem X.
